John is a Partner with Baker Tilly Merali’s and is a registered practicing accountant in good standing with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) and the International Institute of Certified Forensic Investigation Professionals (IICFIP). He is a holder of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K), Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA), Diploma in Technical Education (Accounting Specialization).

EXPERIENCE

John has over 15 years’ professional experience in training on financial management, budget analysis, forensic and investigation audits, financial audits; internal control systems, and asset verification. He is a specialist in providing business consultancy, assisted various organizations to improve their corporate governance and procurement control processes. He has a thorough knowledge of the best practices in management and the statutes such as the Public Procurement Act. John has further experience in NGO audits such as UNDP Somalia, CARE International in Kenya, CORDAID, and Audit of EC funded projects in Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Swaziland, and Botswana.

INVOLVEMENT

John heads our quality review department to ensure that quality standards and current procedures meet International Standards on Auditing (ISA) as per the provisions of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) as well as the standards set by clients and ensuring compliance with Government regulations.
